KONSTANTIN BABKIN: «WE’VE SUCCEEDED IN CREATING THE BEST EXHIBITION PROJECT IN RUSSIA»
PRESIDENT OF ROSAGROMASH ASSOCIATION, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF INDUSTRIAL HOLDING COMPANY «NOVOYE SODRUZHESTVO» ADDRESS
Dear colleagues and friends,
Three years ago we arrived at a joint decision to organize the first in Russia International Specialized Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery AGROSALON. We set ourselves a highly ambitious task of creating the best exhibition project in Russia. I am proud to say that we have succeeded.
Someone might have considered this task not executable, but we strongly believed that we would succeed. We have managed to do a lot of things, namely to develop a new philosophy of modern agricultural machine building, to involve the majority of leading domestic and foreign companies functioning in the agricultural machine building sector, to attract visitors from different parts of this country and of the world, to be recognized by Russian and international business community. AGROSALON was highly praised by the Chairman of the Government of the RF V.V. Putin. The Exhibition of 2010 was visited by the First Deputy of the Chairman of the Government of the RF V.A. Zubkov.
We are not going to be resting on our laurels; we need to start a brand new development cycle. The Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2010 between the Rosagromash Association and German Agricultural Machinery Association (VDMA) implies a new exhibition format – once in every two years. This will give us a chance to focus our efforts on the detailed development of the business program and promotion of interests of each and every company participating in AGROSALON.
In 2011 we plan to implement a whole range of marketing measures both in the constituent territories of the Russian Federation and abroad, in order to improve the status of the Exhibition, to increase its exposure effect and personality and be fully prepared to the forth AGROSALON in 2012.
However, we need your full support so we can successfully achieve the objects in view. AGROSALON is our joint project, which unites together contributions from all participating companies. Our solidarity and common drive for results will let us prove our top position. I would like to appeal to you to sign the Memorandum and join to the unified position of powerful and successful companies.
The MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING has been signed by over 30 companies.
AGROSALON 2012 PROMOTION PROGRAM HAS BEEN APPROVED
The first meeting of the working group for visitor relations of the International Specialized Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery AGROSALON was held on March 17, 2011 in Moscow
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Marketing and Advertising Departments of the companies participating in the Exhibition: John Deere Agricultural Holdings and Rostselmash, KRONE RUS and KOLNAG, СASE, KLAAS, Quernerland Group CIS, EcoNiva-Tekhnika and Evrotekhnika.
AGROSALON 2010 was a great success and exposed high level of organization. The organizers believe that preparation for the next Exhibition should start immediately after the previous one is finished. That is precisely why the main topic of discussion at the first meeting of the working group was development and consideration of a fundamentally new AGROSALON 2012 promotion program and ways to attract more visitors.
«The success of the Exhibition depends on the number of its participants and visitors,» – says AGROSALON Project Manager Alla Elizarova. «The results of AGROSALON 2010 showed that a lot was done to achieve success, but we are not going to be resting on our laurels; we need a brand new approach to development. The major dividend of any exhibition project is the visitor. This becomes especially important when the Exhibition shifts to international biennial schedule.»
The participants of the working group plan to implement a whole range of marketing measures both in Moscow and other regions of the country in order to improve the status of the Exhibition, to increase its exposure effect and personality. This will provide correct and timely notification of the market participants about the future Exhibition events, its latest innovations and give the organizers an opportunity to devote full attention to AGROSALON visitors. Such individual approach will provide an opportunity for all interested companies to use their resources effectively and promote their products in the market.
The participants of the meeting decided to hold regular meetings of the working group and approved AGROSALON promotion program and events for the second quarter of 2011. The next meeting of the working group is planned for May 31, 2011.

CLAAS COMPANY PRESENTED LATEST PRODUCTS IN PARIS
The International Agricultural Exhibition SIMA-2011 took place in the end of February in Paris, where the leading manufacturers from various countries presented their latest developments in the sphere of agricultural machinery and agro-industrial equipment.
CLAAS company presented several of its latest products indicating its definitive leadership in the European agricultural sector.
The company presented in Paris its latest combine harvester CLAAS LEXION gathering up to 100 tons of grain per hour. This powerful model equipped with 12 meter long cutters is notable for high-precision motion due to the use of GPS-system, and can transport up to 12 000 liters of grain in the tanker.
The new track-laying traveling gear CLAAS TERRA TRAC for combine harvester LEXION won the Silver medal of SIMA Exhibition. The panel of judges rewarded CLAAS for the development of track-laying traveling gear that reduces shocks to the carriage and machinery due to the new hydro-pneumatic suspension. Modern traveling gear in models LEXION 770 and 750 increases the road speed of combine harvesters up to 40 km/h.
The participants of the Exhibition were immensely interested in the absolutely new development by CLAAS – pre-production samples of AXION 900 tractor, which is going to add to the range of powerful tractors produced by the company. Four models developing 280 to 400 horsepower complement the existing series of AXION 800 (164-260 hp) and XERION 3300-5000 (330-530 hp). It is planned to start serial production of these tractors in 2012.
The panel of judges at SIMA Exhibition specifically emphasized the measures taken by CLAAS company to protect animals during harvesting. The Project under the name of “Wildlife Rescue” implemented by the company together with several other partners was awarded a prize for the "sensor system detecting wild animals during harvesting”.
TO SEE PARIS AND IMPLEMENT INNOVATIONS
ECONIVA company organized a trip for its customers to the International Agricultural Exhibition SIMA-2011 (France, Paris), where manufacturers of agricultural machinery became acquainted with the latest developments in machinery and equipment.
The Gold medal SIMA-Innovation Award was awarded to the innovative development of Grimme and John Deere companies, namely the autopilot system ISOBUS Root Runner.
The autopilot system precisely and independently drives the tractor along the wheel track during sugar beet harvesting. A unique solution Plug & Play turns the tractor-propelled beet harvester into a universal self-propelled harvesting unit.
LEMKEN company also presented a number of innovations, including semi-mounted planter Solitaire combined with a short disk harrow Geliodor. The main advantage of this machine is that it can work at a high speed whilst saving fuel. A new planting complex Compact-Solitaire КК combined with a rotary harrow Zircon featuring higher performance and capable of working on different types of soil was also presented at the Exhibition.
During this trip the agrarians visited one of the oldest factories of John Deere in Zweibruecken (Germany) manufacturing forage harvesters. Russian agricultural manufacturers also visited farming enterprises, where they became acquainted with the animal care and management technology.
Trips of this kind help discover new approaches in farm managing, make use of experience gained from the foreign colleagues and introduce innovations into production process.
