AGROSALON 2009 – REVIEW OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY

On the 16-19 September 2009 an International specialized exhibition of agricultural machinery AGROSALON took place in Moscow. Professionals were brought together on the central industrial platform to get acquainted with the new agricultural machinery and equipment for the agro-industrial complex.

237 companies from 20 countries took part in the exhibition. More than 300 equipment items were displayed at the comfortable stands of the pavilions. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expressed his high appreciation for AGROSALON in his opening speech.

Diverse and unexpected agronomic solutions were a distinctive feature of the AGROSALON exhibition. - from small electromotive cultivators to powerful tractors and from traditional plows and drills to agricultural robots and helicopters. The international jury of the innovations’ competition, that was held at the framework of the AGROSALON exhibition, has awarded with golden and silver medals 9 best-designed machines of Russian and foreign production.

All participants of the exhibition have highlighted the highly professional level of specialists who attended the event. According to the electronic registration more than 17 000 individuals visited AGROSALON – investors, heads of households, mechanical engineers. 67 representatives of regional delegations have come to the AGROSALON from different subjects of the Russian Federation.

INTERVIEW WITH THE WINNER OF PROMOTIONAL EVENT «UAZ PATRIOT» RABOTKIN DMITRY, CHIEF ENGINEER OF «ROSSIYA» PEASANT FARM

Dmitry, please say a few words about your peasant farm.

Peasant farm “Rossiya” has been into the dairy farming business since 1993. We have 130 hectare of forage forbs. We are constantly growing. Last year we took up piggery as well, because the situation at the moment is such that we will not be able to survive on milk only, due to its very low cost.

What about machinery?

Machinery park is not so large, but this is compensated by the fact that it is completely ours. We have 3 tractors МТЗ 82 and a lorry. The attachments for forage conservation are quite obsolete. We have recently purchased a Belorussian rotor mowing machine, while the rakes and the grass harvester are still functioning from Soviet days.

Does that mean that you have come to AGROSALON to choose new machinery?

At the exhibition I was estimating the pricing of the new baler. There are few of them with reasonable prices, both roll and bale. Certainly, I liked new "Kirovets" a lot! I have also seen beautiful and very comfortable harvesters, but these are for larger farms than ours. I would recommend those, who cultivate crops, to have a closer look at them.

How did you find out about the promotional event "UAZ Patriot"?

I am participating in AGROSALON for the first time this year. We got our complimentary tickets and an invitation for the manager to participate in the promotional event by post. Our Director Golovina Marina Stanislavovna at first could not believe her eyes! It came as a surprise to her that we have won the off-roader.

Will you come to AGROSALON next year?

I will, by all means!

On September 18 the winners of the promotional event “UAZ Patriot” were announced at the International Specialized Exhibition AGROSALON 2009 . Within the framework of this event 3 valuable prizes were drawn: a lawn-mower (winner - "Vesna” farm, Smolensk region), an all-terrain vehicle (“Verkhovje” farm, Orlov region) and an off-roader UAZ Patriot Pick-Up (“Rossiya” farm, Moscow region). In order to participate in the prize drawing, the managers of the agricultural enterprises had to submit their applications (on the web-site www.agrosalon.ru or by hotline) and attend the Exhibition. In 2010 the organizers of the Exhibition intend to repeat the promotional event and increase the prize fund.

PARTICIPANTS’ COMMENTS ON THE EXHIBITION

Alexandr Semenov, General Director of the Same Deutz-Fahr Russia:

During four days, from 16 to 19 September more than 1500 people have visited the exhibition stand of the machinery manufacturers concern Same Deutz-Fahr. This is an advantage of the executives of farm households, agroholdings and dealer companies.

The company’s management have signed deals with four new dealers, an arrangement was made for the purchase of 15 Deutz-Fahr tractors in October this year, that are put together at the recently opened assembly enterprise in the Moscow region.

During the AGROSALON’s exhibition activity, Same Deutz-Fahr’s employees have established contacts and made arrangements with 26 major clients about the purchase of spare parts SDF from the stock, situated in Moscow. In addition to that, 22 certified companies-manufacturers of Russian components for tractor’s design were registered.

The organizers of the AGROSALON exhibition have made it possible to achieve such results.

Our company has signed a number of contracts regarding the supply of agricultural machinery and the exhibition copy of a sprayer was sold directly from the stand at the outcome of the AGROSALON exposition.

Aleksey Boyko, Grene Kramp (Denmark), Manager:

We have met with more than 200 potential clients at our exhibition stand. What is more, half of them are the end consumers.

I would like to highlight the positive aspects of AGROSALON – the high status of the exhibition, the great amount of participants and visitors, the comfortable area and the wonderful décor of the hall.

It is the first time we participate in an exhibition in Russia and our company is content with the results achieved. The exhibition has turned out to be of great benefit to us, and undoubtedly we will take part in it next year.

What I really appreciated about this exhibition is that the students’ association was engaged in it. After all, they are the future employees, who have started from this moment to get acquainted with the AGROSALON.

IN 2010 FROM 06 TO 09 OCTOBER THE CENTRAL EXPOSITION OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY WILL TAKE PLACE IN MOSCOW AT THE PREMISES OF THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE «CROCUS EXPO».

This decision was made by the international exhibition committee. In 2010, AGROSALON will maintain its format and will take place in the contemporary exhibition pavilions, comfortably designed for both exponents and visitors.
